Rin Tin Tin was one of the first movie star dogs. He was found as a puppy by an American Serviceman in a bombed out pet kennel in France at the end of WW1. His success in movies followed in the paw-prints of another German Shepherd, Strongheart. Both dogs have a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
