The Bulldog is a very recognizable breed, with it’s stocky body, short, sturdy legs, short muzzle, and saggy face skin. It is generally a friendly, docile, low-energy breed, that is also loyal and courageous (but not aggressive). The Bulldog’s tenacity makes it a very popular mascot for American Universities and High Schools. Chesty the Bulldog is widely recognized as the mascot of the United States Marine Corps. Bulldogs usually get along well with children and other dogs. In 2007, it made the AKC list as the 10th most popular dog breed.
