The Border Collie is considered the most intelligent dog breed. They are very energetic and need constant physical and mental stimulation, otherwise they become neurotic and destructive when bored. Most people are familiar with Border Collies as herding dogs and dog agility champions, but they also track scents and make excellent search-and-rescue dogs. While they make great family pets, the Border Collie needs a family that can devote plenty of time and attention to their pet.
